Carnival in Rio

Sale of tickets for the carnival in Rio usually begins in November-December. Prices depend on which day of the carnival you go, which sector (arquibancada) and which zone of the sector.

On the night from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday schools of the second league compete. The tickets are the cheapest for these nights.

From Sunday to Monday and from Monday to Tuesday the best schools compete, the first league, tickets for these nights are the most expensive.

A week later, on the night from Saturday to Sunday, there is a Winners parade and tickets for this show are usually of average cost.

Samba schools run along a straight street, 13 sectors are located on both sides of it. The cheapest tickets, which means the worst visibility, are in sectors 1, 12 and 13. Good sectors are 7, 8, 10, 11, where tickets are more expensive. Tourist sector 9 is the only one that has marked seats and tickets here are the most expensive. In all other sectors, tickets won`t mark seats. If there's nobody there, you can take the seat. Since the sector is located above the street where the samba schools parades, the audience will always watch from top to bottom.

Besides the usual entry tickets to the sector (arquibancada), you can purchase seats in the friza. These are places located close to the street along which the samba school passes, and on the same level with it. So here you will look straight ahead and up on the schools. You will also be much closer to the samba schools, especially if you choose seats in friza A.

Closed parties, camarote, one of the most expensive and chic ways to visit the carnival. They usually occupy spaces between sectors. These are 3-storey buildings, where on the 1st floor there is an area for everyone, on the second floor there is a dinner, snack and breakfast area, which are included in the ticket price, and on the 3rd floor there is a VIP zone for those who bought the corresponding ticket. There is usually a bar inside, drinks included in the price, a stage, and artists invited to entertain guests during breaks or during the performance of samba schools. As a rule, all camarote guests must wear the same T-shirts, which the organizers will style according to each individual request. The ticket price also includes a transfer (scheduled) from the meeting point in the South Zone of the city (Copacabana, Ipanema of Leblon) to the Sambadrome and back.

We will be happy to buy and deliver you tickets for the carnival.

Participating in Rio`s carnival is actually not that difficult! It is enough to purchase a costume in advance from one of the samba schools. In January schools begin to sell costumes to tourists in order to earn money for their performance and provide an opportunity for an outsider to touch the carnival. Each school sells several types of costumes, different cuts, weights, designs. When choosing a costume and a school with which you will parade, pay attention to the day when the samba school is performing and its order on the list of speakers. So that you don’t have to wait until 04:00 - 05:00 in the morning to walk with the school at the carnival. Getting in touch with the school is not an easy task. The costumes are often quite uncomfortable and can be hot as the carnival takes place in the summer and the materials are often synthetic. Be prepared to spend at least 1.5 hours in it. During the performance, once you are in Sambodromo, you cannot take pictures nor videotape since all the materials from the show belong to Globo studio. There are also no lockers, so take a minimum of things with you in a small bag that can be hidden under your costume.

We order costumes in your size from the samba school, pick up your costumes in advance and store them until you arrive in Rio. And then we deliver them to your hotel.
