Niteroi is the city across the bay from Rio. It used to be one of the most armed cities in Brazil with the main goal of protecting Rio de Janeiro. It grew from a small indian village and now is one of the most important cities in the state of Rio. Here we will visit St. Pedro`s fish market, Niemeyer constractions (the Caminho Niemeyer and MAC museum), City Park with wonderful views over Niteroi and Rio and Fortress of Santa Cruz da Barra. The fortress visit is arranged by military forces of Brazil with a local guide describing the history of this location.
